WHO AM I?

As a passionate visionary, my goal is to develop businesses through sustainable value creation by deploying strategic planning, economic & financial models, and innovation.

Previous experience in CEMEX (NYSE:CX) forged in me excellent business rapport, teamwork, leadership and analytical skills. In my last year I was invited to the Vicepresidency of Innovation to strengthen innovation in the company by potentiating best practices around the world.

Later in other experiences I was responsible of developing strategic business projects that created competitive advantage, differentiation and new sources of revenue. In my last experiences I led the strategy definition and managed relationships & partnerships with financial entities and investors of different businesses in the region of LATAM and later of America.

Now as Luuna’s CFO, I am responsible of managing all financial and tax processes, designing the Company’s long-term business strategy and procuring all legal services to ensure the observance of applicable laws and regulations.

In the entrepreneurship field, my passion is to develop innovative ideas and build businesses around them. I collaborate as an entrepreneurship consultant and partner.

EXPERIENCE

CFO
■ Initiate and maintain relationships with major lenders and other providers of capital; oversee financing strategies including all cash flow planning to ensure availability of funds as needed. ■ Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets, financial business plans and forecasts. ■ Support the development of the strategy for the next 3 years, and responsible of the subsequent tactic planning for budgeting and execution. ■ Mentor and develop the finance team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and departmental team building. ■ Primary responsibility for the third-party relationships with audit and tax advisors. Coordinate the annual audit and ensure proper filing of all tax returns. ■ Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.■ Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, COO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.

Strategy & Corporate Development Manager for Hispanic & North America
■ Develop market and competitive intelligence, both in current and potential new markets (products and geographies) in the Hispanic and North America region. ■ Develop mid-term financial and strategic plans for operating companies in the region and responsible of the follow-up of said plans. ■ Lead a variety of ad-hoc strategic projects assigned by the SVP–Strategy of the region. ■ Drive the identification and screening merger, acquisition, joint-venture and minority investment opportunities to advance strategic initiatives in the region. ■ Perform strategic analysis, financial modeling and risk assessment on business opportunities, by collecting/synthesizing information and developing presentations to structure/communicate an investment thesis. ■ Responsible of liaising with the head office M&A team for all acquisition and investment projects assigned by the SVP–Strategy, and lead in all stages of the transaction process (including negotiations, deal-structuring, due-diligence, closing). ■ Follow-up on post-transaction integration to ensure a flawless execution.

■ Within LATAM, lead the development of large to mid-size, structured deals and projects for governments (e.g. PPP) and private customers, in connection with business sales teams. ■ Sales of ~$15M USD as result of new business model development, financing of businesses for ~$10M USD using non-conventional structures across LATAM. ■ Support other Business to Government (B2G) business development activities. ■ Develop financial partners and maintain relationships with banks and investment funds. ■ Lead M&A activities across LATAM, including target screening, valuation, closing and handover. ■ Drive business growth organically of existing offerings and identifies new opportunities for escalation to market leadership. ■ Direct scenario planning activities including pricing analyses and cost savings opportunities. ■ Maintain, along with an analyst team, the annual financial plan, budget and manage the completion of periodic forecasts for businesses.
